Welcome to Star Truck Lines Inc.
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of startrucklines.com (the “Website”), your submission of freight quote requests or other inquiries through the Website, and certain interactions with Star Truck Lines Inc. (“Star Truck Lines,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
These Terms also establish general conditions applicable to transportation and logistics services requested from Star Truck Lines unless a separate written agreement, rate confirmation, bill of lading, transportation agreement, tariff, or other applicable shipping document provides different terms.
Please read these Terms carefully.
By accessing or using the Website, submitting a request, requesting a quote, communicating with us regarding transportation services, or otherwise using services subject to these Terms, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the Website.

- Full Truckload (FTL);
- Dedicated Freight Solutions;

- Regional Transportation;
- Long-Haul Transportation;

Availability of any particular service, route, equipment type, capacity, pickup date, delivery date, or pricing is not guaranteed until confirmed by Star Truck Lines.
2. Relationship Between These Terms and Shipping Documents
These Terms establish general rules for use of our Website and interactions with Star Truck Lines.
Individual shipments may also be governed by documents such as:
- written transportation agreements;
- rate confirmations;
- bills of lading;
- shipping orders;
- dispatch confirmations;
- customer contracts;
- written service agreements;
- applicable tariffs;
- written pricing agreements; and
- applicable federal or state transportation laws and regulations.
If there is a conflict between these Website Terms and a separately executed written agreement relating to a particular transportation service, the separately executed written agreement will control with respect to that service.
For cargo liability, freight claims, bills of lading, or other matters specifically governed by applicable transportation law, applicable law and the controlling transportation documents will govern.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to waive or eliminate rights or obligations that cannot lawfully be waived.
3. Eligibility and Authority
You must be legally capable of entering into a binding agreement to use our Website for commercial transactions or request services from Star Truck Lines.
If you use the Website or request services on behalf of a company, shipper, consignee, organization, or other legal entity, you represent that:
- you are authorized to act on behalf of that entity;
- you are authorized to provide the information submitted to us;
- you are authorized to request transportation services; and
- the entity agrees to applicable terms associated with those services.
4. Freight Quote Requests
The Website allows customers and prospective customers to request freight quotes.
A request for a quote is a request for information only.
Submitting a quote form does not:
- create a transportation contract;
- guarantee equipment availability;
- guarantee driver availability;
- reserve capacity;
- confirm a pickup;
- confirm a delivery;
- guarantee a rate;
- guarantee a transit time; or
- obligate Star Truck Lines to accept the shipment.
A transportation arrangement becomes binding only when accepted or confirmed by Star Truck Lines through an authorized communication or applicable transportation document.
5. Accuracy of Shipment Information
Freight rates and service availability depend on the information supplied by the customer.
You agree to provide complete and accurate information concerning a proposed shipment, including where applicable:
- origin;
- destination;
- pickup date;
- delivery requirements;
- commodity;
- freight description;
- number of pallets or pieces;
- weight;
- dimensions;
- equipment requirements;
- temperature requirements;
- loading requirements;
- unloading requirements;
- appointment requirements;
- access restrictions;
- special handling requirements; and
- any other information that may materially affect transportation.
You are responsible for notifying Star Truck Lines of any material change before pickup.
If the actual shipment differs from the information used to prepare a quote, Star Truck Lines may revise the rate or impose applicable additional charges.
Examples include changes in:
- weight;
- dimensions;
- commodity;
- mileage;
- route;
- pickup location;
- delivery location;
- equipment;
- temperature requirements;
- number of stops;
- loading time;
- unloading time; or
- requested service level.
6. Freight Rates and Additional Charges
Unless expressly stated otherwise in writing, a quoted rate is based on the shipment information supplied at the time the quote is issued.
Additional charges may apply when circumstances require services or costs not included in the original quote.
These may include, where applicable:
- detention;
- driver waiting time;
- layover;
- truck ordered but not used;
- canceled load charges;
- additional stops;
- redelivery;
- reconsignment;
- route changes;
- storage;
- lumper charges;
- unloading charges;
- loading charges;
- driver-assist services;
- tolls;
- permits;
- overweight or oversize requirements;
- appointment changes;
- after-hours services;
- special equipment;
- temperature-related requirements;
- fuel-related adjustments; and
- other accessorial services.
Applicable accessorial charges may be identified in a rate confirmation, customer agreement, tariff, invoice, or other transportation document.
7. Payment Terms
Customers are responsible for paying all valid transportation charges and other amounts associated with services requested or provided.
Payment terms will be those stated in the applicable:
- invoice;
- rate confirmation;
- customer agreement;
- credit agreement; or
- other written arrangement.
If no separate payment terms have been agreed, payment is due according to the terms shown on the invoice.
Customers are responsible for providing accurate billing information.
To the extent permitted by law and applicable agreements, past-due balances may be subject to reasonable collection costs, interest, late charges, attorney fees, or other costs incurred in collecting unpaid amounts.
Star Truck Lines may require:
- advance payment;
- deposits;
- credit approval;
- credit card authorization;
- ACH authorization; or
- another acceptable payment method
before accepting or performing certain services.
8. Cancellations
A customer should notify Star Truck Lines as soon as possible if a scheduled shipment must be canceled.
Cancellation charges may apply when:
- equipment has already been dispatched;
- a driver is en route;
- a driver has arrived at the pickup location;
- capacity has been specifically reserved;
- a load is canceled after confirmation; or
- Star Truck Lines has incurred costs in reliance on the confirmed shipment.
The applicable cancellation or truck-ordered-not-used charge, if any, will be determined by the applicable rate confirmation, service agreement, tariff, or circumstances of the shipment.
9. Pickup and Delivery Times
Star Truck Lines works to provide safe, reliable, and timely transportation.
However, unless Star Truck Lines expressly agrees in writing to a guaranteed service, pickup times, delivery times, estimated arrival times, transit times, and tracking information are estimates.
Transportation may be affected by circumstances outside reasonable control, including:
- traffic;
- weather;
- road closures;
- accidents;
- mechanical problems;
- government actions;
- inspections;
- border delays;
- loading delays;
- unloading delays;
- shipper delays;
- consignee delays;
- facility congestion;
- natural disasters;
- labor disruptions;
- emergencies; or
- other transportation conditions.
An expedited or time-sensitive service request does not create an absolute delivery guarantee unless a specific guaranteed service has been expressly accepted in writing by Star Truck Lines.
10. Customer and Shipper Responsibilities
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the shipper is responsible for ensuring freight is:
- accurately described;
- legally permitted for transportation;
- properly packaged;
- properly secured where the shipper performs loading;
- suitable for normal transportation conditions;
- properly labeled;
- correctly documented;
- ready at the agreed pickup time; and
- compliant with applicable laws and regulations.
The shipper must disclose any condition that may affect safe transportation or require special handling.
Star Truck Lines may refuse to transport freight that appears unsafe, improperly packaged, improperly documented, overweight, unlawful, damaged before pickup, incompatible with the requested equipment, or otherwise unsuitable for transportation.
11. Packaging and Cargo Preparation
Customers are responsible for using packaging appropriate for the commodity and ordinary transportation risks unless Star Truck Lines has expressly agreed to provide packaging services.
Packaging should reasonably protect cargo against conditions normally encountered during transportation, including:
- vibration;
- movement;
- normal handling;
- stacking where appropriate;
- changes in road conditions;
- ordinary temperature conditions applicable to the selected service; and
- other reasonably foreseeable transportation conditions.
Star Truck Lines is not responsible for inadequate packaging to the extent permitted by applicable law.
12. Loading, Sealing and Unloading
Responsibility for loading, counting, securing, sealing, and unloading freight depends on the shipment arrangement and applicable documents.
When a shipment is loaded and sealed by the shipper without an opportunity for the driver to inspect the cargo, applicable shipping documents may identify the shipment as shipper load and count, sealed load, or similar.
Customers should ensure:
- freight is loaded safely;
- weight is properly distributed;
- legal weight limits are observed;
- cargo securement requirements are followed;
- seals are properly applied where required; and
- loading does not create an unsafe operating condition.
Star Truck Lines reserves the right to decline transportation of an unsafe or unlawfully loaded shipment.
13. Weight and Dimensions
The customer is responsible for providing accurate cargo weight and dimensions.
If actual cargo weight or dimensions differ materially from the information provided, Star Truck Lines may:
- adjust the transportation rate;
- require redistribution or reloading;
- require additional equipment;
- delay transportation until the issue is corrected;
- obtain permits where legally permissible;
- refuse the shipment; or
- assess applicable additional charges.
Customers may be responsible for costs resulting from inaccurate weight or dimensional information.
14. Refrigerated and Temperature-Controlled Freight
For refrigerated or temperature-sensitive freight, customers must provide accurate written temperature and handling requirements before transportation begins.
Unless otherwise agreed, the shipper is responsible for:
- identifying the required temperature range;
- providing accurate commodity information;
- ensuring the product is at the required temperature before loading;
- using appropriate packaging;
- following appropriate loading and airflow practices;
- advising Star Truck Lines of special temperature requirements; and
- providing any necessary handling instructions.
Refrigeration equipment is intended primarily to maintain cargo temperature and should not be assumed to rapidly change the core temperature of improperly preconditioned freight.
If regulatory, pharmaceutical, food-safety, continuous-monitoring, calibration, recordkeeping, or other specialized requirements apply to a shipment, those requirements must be disclosed before the shipment is accepted.
No specialized regulatory or certification requirement should be assumed unless it has been expressly confirmed by Star Truck Lines in writing.
15. Prohibited and Restricted Freight
Unless specifically accepted in writing and lawfully authorized, customers must not tender prohibited, illegal, or unauthorized freight.
Restricted commodities may include:
- hazardous materials;
- explosives;
- illegal drugs or controlled substances;
- weapons or ammunition;
- radioactive materials;
- human remains;
- live animals;
- currency;
- negotiable instruments;
- precious metals;
- high-value jewelry;
- fine art;
- goods prohibited by law;
- improperly documented hazardous substances;
- household goods or personal effects offered as a residential moving shipment; and
- other unusually hazardous or high-risk commodities.
This list is not exhaustive.
Customers must disclose the exact nature of any cargo requiring special permits, licenses, insurance, handling, security, or regulatory compliance before the shipment is accepted.
Star Truck Lines may reject any shipment it determines cannot be transported safely or lawfully.
16. Hazardous Materials
Hazardous materials may not be tendered unless Star Truck Lines has specifically agreed in writing to transport the material and all legal, regulatory, documentation, packaging, labeling, placarding, and handling requirements have been satisfied.
The shipper is responsible for accurately identifying and declaring hazardous materials.
Tendering undeclared or improperly declared hazardous material is prohibited.
The customer may be responsible, to the extent permitted by applicable law, for losses, expenses, penalties, cleanup costs, damages, or liabilities resulting from the customer’s failure to properly disclose or document hazardous material.
17. Real-Time Tracking and Shipment Updates
Star Truck Lines may provide GPS tracking, estimated arrival information, dispatch updates, location information, or other shipment visibility features.
Tracking information is provided for operational convenience and may occasionally:
- be delayed;
- contain temporary inaccuracies;
- become unavailable;
- experience connectivity issues; or
- differ from the vehicle’s actual location.
Tracking information does not itself create a guaranteed pickup or delivery commitment.
Customers must not misuse tracking information to interfere with drivers, equipment, dispatch operations, or transportation safety.
18. Third-Party Transportation and Service Providers
Where permitted by applicable law and the applicable service arrangement, certain transportation or logistics functions may involve third parties.
These may include:
- carriers;
- drivers;
- warehouses;
- loading facilities;
- unloading facilities;
- distribution centers;
- technology vendors;
- maintenance providers; and
- other transportation or logistics service providers.
The contractual role and responsibility of each party will depend on the applicable transportation arrangement and controlling documents.
Nothing in these Terms should be interpreted as representing that Star Truck Lines is acting in a particular regulated transportation capacity where that capacity has not been expressly stated in the applicable transaction.
19. Bills of Lading and Shipping Documents
Where applicable, freight may move under a bill of lading, shipping receipt, rate confirmation, or another transportation document.
Customers should review shipping documents carefully before tendering freight.
The absence of a particular document does not alter rights or obligations imposed by applicable law.
If information in a shipping document is incorrect, the customer should notify Star Truck Lines promptly.
No employee, driver, contractor, or other person has authority to alter contractual liability or transportation terms unless authorized to do so by Star Truck Lines and the modification is valid under applicable law.
20. Cargo Loss and Damage
Liability for interstate cargo loss, damage, or injury will be determined under applicable federal transportation law, the applicable bill of lading, valid written agreements, and other controlling transportation documents.
Nothing in these Website Terms is intended to expand, reduce, or waive liability where doing so would conflict with applicable law.
Customers should inspect shipments promptly upon delivery.
Visible shortages or damage should be appropriately documented at delivery whenever reasonably possible.
Documentation may include:
- delivery receipts;
- photographs;
- bills of lading;
- invoices;
- packing lists;
- repair documentation;
- salvage information; and
- other evidence relevant to the claimed loss.
Notation of damage at delivery does not by itself constitute a formal cargo claim when applicable law requires additional information.
21. Freight Claims
Cargo claims should be submitted promptly and in accordance with:
- applicable federal law;
- applicable regulations;
- the bill of lading;
- the transportation agreement; and
- other controlling shipping documents.
A claim should contain sufficient information to:
- identify the shipment;
- identify the claimant;
- identify the alleged loss or damage;
- assert liability; and
- state or reasonably identify the amount claimed where required.
Supporting documents should be supplied when available.
Claims may be sent to:
Star Truck Lines Inc.
Email: info@startrucklines.com
Customers should use the subject line:
Freight Claim – [Shipment or Load Number]
Statutory and contractual claim deadlines may apply. Customers should not delay submission while gathering nonessential documentation if doing so could cause an applicable filing deadline to expire.
22. Concealed Damage
If damage is discovered after delivery, the consignee should:
- preserve the cargo;
- preserve relevant packaging;
- take photographs;
- avoid unnecessary alteration or disposal of evidence; and
- notify Star Truck Lines promptly.
Star Truck Lines may request an opportunity to inspect damaged cargo before repair, disposal, salvage, or destruction where permitted by law.
23. Salvage and Mitigation
A claimant has a responsibility to take reasonable steps to prevent avoidable additional loss where required under applicable law.
Damaged cargo should not be destroyed or disposed of without giving Star Truck Lines a reasonable opportunity to inspect or address salvage where applicable, unless immediate disposal is legally required or reasonably necessary for health or safety.
24. Insurance
Any statement that Star Truck Lines maintains insurance does not create coverage for a customer beyond the terms, limits, exclusions, deductibles, conditions, and requirements of the applicable insurance policy or applicable law.
Cargo value should be disclosed before transportation where value may affect rates, liability arrangements, insurance requirements, or acceptance of the shipment.
Customers requiring special insurance arrangements or higher liability protection should discuss those requirements with Star Truck Lines before a shipment is accepted.
25. Force Majeure and Events Beyond Reasonable Control
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Star Truck Lines will not be responsible for failure or delay in performance caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control.
Examples may include:
- severe weather;
- natural disasters;
- fires;
- floods;
- earthquakes;
- epidemics or pandemics;
- civil unrest;
- acts of terrorism;
- war;
- government restrictions;
- road closures;
- extraordinary traffic disruptions;
- labor disruptions;
- utility outages;
- telecommunications failures;
- major mechanical failures despite reasonable maintenance;
- public emergencies; or
- other events beyond reasonable control.
This section does not eliminate any liability imposed by applicable transportation law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
